Chemical Peel

A non-invasive solution for the removal of damaged skin

A chemical peel is non-invasive cosmetic treatment that removes the damaged outer layers of skin, essentially speeding up the skin shedding process to reveal fresh, glowing skin, even tone and refined texture. As we age the our cellular turnover slows down and in turn our skin starts to show signs of sun and environmental damage.  When properly performed, a chemical peel can be very effective at diminishing those signs of ageing and damage.

A Peel with Skin Worthy is the perfect treatment to complete your daily

skincare regime or the first step in addressing skin concerns. They they can be

performed on the face, neck, or chest

The main concerns that can be treated with a chemical peel include:

  • wrinkle reduction

  • sun damage

  • pigmentation such as age spots, freckles and skin discolouration

  • textural problems

The Skin Worthy Peel is a “lunchtime peel” its quick and light enough you can literally have it done on your lunch hour. There’s no down time and usually no major peeling, pinkness and minor flaking may occur. This type of peel is meant to exfoliate the top layer of skin to reveal brighter, smoother skin and can be performed multiple times to reach your desired results.

We prepare the skin by cleansing and manually exfoliating the treatment area, then peel solution is gently painted on to the skin. Once the peel has had time to work the solution is removed and a series of nutritive and calming products are applied to the skin to enhance the results.

During the procedure it is common for the skin to feel warm or hot followed by a stinging sensation. Depending on the type of peel performed you may feel nothing afterward and not even visibly peel, this doesn't mean the peel hasn't worked as there will still be microscopic peeling bringing out fresh and rejuvenated skin.

A chemical peel is designed to remove top layers of skin, and although you may see a reduction in fine lines, shallower wrinkles and some scaring it cannot tighten skin or treat sagging skin. Deep scars are also difficult to eliminate with a chemical peel and there may be another treatment option better suited for you. We will address all skin concerns at your consultation and explain what we believe is the best path to achieve your goals.
