Please be Advised:

We highly recommend that you stop taking any medications that have the potential to thin your blood at least 5 days prior to treatment as such medications can increase your chances of bruising in the treated areas. Such medications include NSAIDS , Aspirin, Naproxen, fish oil supplements etc. If you are unsure about whether your medications are blood thinners, please call the clinic for assistance.

Day of Treatment:

We highly recommend that you wear comfortable, loose clothing to your appointment. Depending on treatment area, we highly recommend that you wear inexpensive undergarments and bring an extra pair to wear home as gel pads will be applied with the applicator and have the potential to leak beyond the treatment area during application.

Immediately Following Treatment:

The treated area may appear or feel stiff, and can appear white or red, with evident signs of bruising or swelling in the treated area(s). The pinkness/redness will subside over the first several hours after treatment. If you have developed bruising it may remain for up to a week following the session. In some patients, the skin may ache or sting for a brief period of time which is normal, as sensation returns to the treated area.

Post-Treatment:

You can expect some of the following symptoms immediately after the procedure. These symptoms may persist for up to several weeks. Most patients have very mild symptoms but, as with any medical procedure, each patient experiences it client specific. Symptoms generally subside over time and typically have no long-lasting complications. These include:

  • Bruising, swelling and tenderness can occur in the treated area. This typically resolves within a week or two.

  • Nausea, tingling, stinging and cramping in the treatment area are possible on treatment day.

  • You may feel a temporary dulling of sensation or itching sensitivity in the treated area.

  • Numbness at the site is common, resolving over 1-3 weeks.

Overall, typically there is minimal recovery time after CoolSculpting. You will be able to return to your normal daily routine immediately following the procedure. Please be advised that it is common for the treated area to feel bloated and to look swollen for the first three weeks after CoolSculpting. Compression tights such as yoga pants or Spanx may feel good to wear during this time period. Additionally, you may experience temporary sensations of itching and tingling that can last up to several weeks following the procedure. In rare cases, please notify us if any of these symptoms become severe or are beginning to interfere with your ability to perform regular activities or sleep.

Following the procedure, a gradual reduction in the thickness of the fat layer will begin to take place. You may start to see a reduction as early as four weeks after CoolSculpting, and you will experience the most dramatic results after two to three months following treatment. Your body will continue to process the injured fat cells from your body for approximately four months following the procedure.
