Microneedling w/PRP

Platelets are a part of everyones whole blood, within the body their natural function is to assist in healing and generating new tissue. Platelets contain Growth Factors, which are involved in stem cell migration, and ultimately activate regeneration of the cells and tissue throughout the body. PRP also assists in collagen production and formation of new blood vessels to the treated areas. By isolating the platelet-rich portion of your blood and injecting it back into target regions, you are able to fight the signs of aging and correct imperfections using your body’s natural biology.
PRP was originally used by orthopaedic surgeons as a way to accelerate the healing of injured joints and tissue, but now the treatment has become popular in medical aesthetics because of its ability to turn back aging skin. As a result of the use of platelet-rich plasma separated from whole blood. This natural treatment is non invasive and has a low risk of reactions and complications as it uses your body’s own processes to boost your complexion and increase your skin’s overall health.

1. A small of amount of blood is collected.
2. The blood is then spun in a centrifuge to separate the different components. (e.g., red blood cells, white blood cells and plasma).
3. Once the blood has been separated, the plasma (PRP) is extracted from the tube.
4. The PRP is injected into the desired treatment area through the use of microneedling which uses a technique that involves the use of multiple small needles to form tiny punctures in the top layer of the skin.

There may be redness and some tenderness on the first day that looks and feels similar to a sunburn. Occasionally some bruising may occur. The initial redness will usually subside by the second day, and some patients notice some swelling and a rough texture to the skin the day after treatment. By the third day the skin is usually healed but, some patients notice the rough sandpaper like texture of the skin may last for up to a week.
Although you may see the changes in you skin following treatment you will not likely have any major downtime. You would still want to avoid a vampire facial treatment immediately before any major events. Following treatment you can go back to your regular daily activities.
