A non-invasive solution to permanently remove chin fat
Excess fat can accumulate almost anywhere, even the face, chin, and neck. Submental fat, commonly called a “double chin,” can be very difficult to eliminate, even with dieting and exercise. This concern affects both men and women and even people that aren’t overweight. Skin Worthy Toronto BELKYRA™ is non-surgical solution that can reduce unwanted fat under the chin with little downtime.
Patients will require a minimum of 2 treatments. The average is 2-4 treatments and generally a maximum of 6 treatments may be needed for individuals with larger necks. Once BELKYRA™ causes the destruction of fat cells in the treatment area, the result is permanent.
To prepare you for treatment at Skin Worthy Toronto, our
Injector will clean the area and apply a topical anesthetic.
Each BELKYRA™ treatment involves approximately 10 to 30
small injections in various locations beneath the chin. The fat is
dissolved within 10-15 minutes of injection, however an
inflammatory response triggered that causes swelling and takes a
3-4 weeks to subside. Therefore, you will not see your final
result for approximately 4 weeks following your injection.
In addition most patients experience mild soreness, similar
to a bruised/sore muscle, in the treatment area under the
chin. You may ibuprofen, or Tylenol as needed for discomfort.
Who isn’t a Good Candidate?
Our injector at Skin Worthy Toronto will complete a full, detailed exam prior to treatment to ensure you are a potential candidate. Do not have BELKYRA™ performed if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have difficulty swallowing. Be sure to tell us if you take blood thinners or have surgery scheduled for a face or neck lift.
Because the active ingredient in BELKYRA™ occurs naturally in the human body, severe reactions to this nonsurgical facial rejuvenation treatment are uncommon. However, there are some risks such as excessive swelling, bruising, redness, numbness, tenderness and hardness that may accompany any injectable treatment. Additional side effects also include occasional headaches, heaviness in the treated area, dysphagia (difficulty swallowing), injection site induration, injection site nodule, and injection site pruritus.
