Hello Skin Worthy fans! Today we wanted to shine a spotlight on some treatments that would be great for our acne prone patients.
At Skin Worthy we have the Sciton Laser that offers the BBL Forever Clear 3 Step System which helps to reduce the production of P.acnes bacteria (a naturally occurring bacterium present on acne prone skin). Forever Clear also treats excessive oil production, which causes unwanted breakouts and acne. The first step of this treatment is using Blue Light (420nm) to eliminate acne causing bacteria. The Blue Light targets the bacteria at its source deep down in the pores. This step helps reduce and improve the appearance of active acne as well as prevent new breakouts. The second step is using the Yellow/Red Light (560 nm) which reduces the inflammation and redness associated with acne. This step helps treat the acne associated redness and reduce acneic scarring. The third and final step is using Infrared light (590st) which is a skin tightening pass that helps to compliment the results of the first two steps. This tightens the skin, resulting in a luminous and smooth glow and provides patients with less visible acne scarring. The infrared light is perfect for patients who suffer from pitted acne scars.
To achieve the best results it is recommended that patient's complete 1-2 treatments a week for 4 weeks or until the patient is satisfied with their results. Once the initial series of treatments are complete, patients are advised to come in every 3-6 months for a maintenance treatment.
